Reading has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What began as my parents reading aloud to me as a little girl grew into learning to love reading on my own. I have been fortunate to have traveled quite a bit, but through books I have been all over the world and lived in various historical times. I have learned about artists and inventors and everyday people doing extraordinary things. My favorite genres are historical fiction and memoir.
I grew up in Northern California and graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in sociology. I have always loved people and the way they think. I met my husband on my first day of college but it took seven years and moves to Philadelphia and New York City before we finally got married. While living in New York I got my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Teacher’s College, Columbia University. I worked briefly in education before I had my first child and we relocated to the Seattle area where we’ve been for 20 years. We then had a son and another daughter. They are now 22, 19 and 16 years old. I will always cherish the memories of cuddling up together day or night to share a book (or two or three).
I am very active volunteering in the community through the schools and the PTSA. In the Fall I run a pop-up Cashmere store with my two partners who also happen to be two of my closest friends. I enjoy playing tennis and I am a member of two book clubs. They have brought such joy to my life, not to mention lifelong friendships. I look forward to this new adventure of sharing my love of reading with others!
